What will you be doing?
As a Senior Associate, you play an important role within our Data Protection, IP & Technology practice. You act as a trusted legal advisor to clients, manage complex files independently and contribute to the day-to-day coordination and supervision of junior team members. You work closely with partners and managing associates while taking ownership of your matters.

Your responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial, IT and data-related contracts.
  • Advising clients on Data Act, AI regulation, copyright and trademark law, as part of broader technology-driven projects.
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and translating them into clear, pragmatic and business-oriented advice.
  • Managing files autonomously, with a strong focus on quality, ownership and client satisfaction.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior associates and trainees, and reviewing their work.
  • Providing constructive feedback and contributing to the professional development of junior colleagues.
  • Sharing knowledge within the team through internal trainings and collaboration.
  • Building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Identifying opportunities for cross-selling within BDO Legal and the wider BDO network.
  • Contributing to client proposals, pitches and publications.
  • Acting as an ambassador of BDO Legal, reflecting our values of quality, integrity and entrepreneurship.

What do you bring to the table?
You are a motivated and responsible lawyer with a strong interest in technology-driven legal domains and a desire to grow within a dynamic law firm.

You Bring

  • A Master's degree in Law, with a required additional specialisation in data protection, intellectual property or technology law.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a law firm.
  • Strong expertise in GDPR and contract law (essential).
  • Knowledge of and interest in the Data Act, AI regulation, copyright and trademark law.
  • The ability to work independently, with a high sense of responsibility and ownership.
  • A collaborative mindset and interest in mentoring and coaching junior colleagues.
  • Commercial awareness and an eye for client needs.
  • Fluency in Dutch, French and English.

What do we bring to the table?

  • The opportunity to work in an ambitious and growing law firm with a clear vision.
  • A challenging role where you can contribute to building a high-quality practice.
  • Space for professional autonomy, initiative, and entrepreneurship.
  • A team of dedicated lawyers where collaboration is central.
  • A modern work environment with attention to flexibility.
  • Concrete career growth opportunities based on your ambitions.
  • The chance to work in multidisciplinary teams with BDO specialists (tax, finance) and, for international matters, with other BDO Legal offices worldwide.
