Business Development Trainee


Business Development Western & Southern Europe Trainee

Primary objectives of position

Be an integral part of the Development Team Western & Southern Europe and support the growth of the group in the region by closely working with the hotel investor and development community as well as relevant internal stakeholders. The Western & Southern European Development team represents 8 passionate and enthusiastic developers based across Europe, with key members based in Brussels.

Obtain a deeper understanding of different contract types (franchise, management and lease agreement) as well as the commercial underwriting and financial valuation of hotel projects.

Duration: min. 6 months

Projects and Support tasks include

General tasks

  • Conduct due diligence for hotel projects, evaluate their feasibility and prepare financial projections for hotels in the region;

  • Coordinate with other departments (Revenue Management, Technical, Legal) to develop financial projections and relevant documentation;

  • Conduct market research and compile business intelligence for the regional markets.

  • Assist in preparation of internal project approval documentation.

  • Assist in preparation of presentations and material for investor meetings, conferences and internal committees.

  • Prepare and keep up-to-date dedicated marketing material and sales documentation for the team.

  • Ensure relevant databases and internal reporting requirements are re up-to-date including bi-weekly reporting process for the region

Your profile and attitude

  • Being passionate about the hotel industry and hotel development.

  • Being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and work to align with the team's responsibilities.

  • Self-reliant and entrepreneurial, ready to take on a challenge

  • Proficiency in business English (both written and spoken).

  • Strong analytical ability and mathematical / financial skills.

  • Understanding and working knowledge of financial concepts and statements.

  • Proficiency in all Office tools and in particular Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
