The appointee will support the daily operation of the Center for Ocean Research in Hong Kong and Macau(CORE), which is jointly established by National Laboratory and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and is also supported by the Areas of Excellence Scheme (AoE) project funded by UGC.

The appointee will be responsible for the administration and coordination of the projects, including

  • Conduct comprehensive management of the CORE and AoE project, including rendering end-to-end administrative coordination, research planning, monitoring and promoting as well as data compiling for various project reports.

  • Providing administrative support for center and AoE by handling financial matters and ensuring compliance with university policies and guidelines.

  • Liaising with various units within and outside HKUST and maintaining good relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external organizations.

  • Providing secretarial services to committees and working groups.

  • Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisors.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree preferably with 1-2 years of work experience. They should be a good team player, service-oriented, able to work independently, and competent with interpersonal and communication skills. They should also be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua). Good IT knowledge with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, website and image editing are desirable. Experience in marketing and business industry is a strong advantage. Applicants with less experience will also be considered and as Assistant Officer. (Duration: 1-2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided where applicable.
