Service Architect (Data Architect)

Senior Data Architect &##128205; Brussels (100% on-site) ⏳ 12-month project Belgian Identity required since it’s for a department of the Government ✨ About the Role We are looking for a Senior Data Architect with at least 10 years of experience to design, govern, and optimize complex data architectures. You translate business and stakeholder needs into scalable, secure, and future-proof data solutions, aligned with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements. You play a key role in defining data standards, ensuring data quality and integrity, and driving innovation through modern data technologies. &##128295; Key Responsibilities &##128187; Design scalable data architectures aligned with organizational strategy &##128202; Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models &##129514; Design, build, and optimize ETL and ELT processes &##128200; Implement automated data workflows and monitor data pipelines for errors or delays &##129309; Collaborate with stakeholders, data scientists, analysts, and development teams &##128194; Work with unstructured data and big data technologies ⚡ Contribute to data lakes, AI and ML integrations, and real-time data processing &##128221; Deliver clear, well-structured documentation in English &##128101; Coach colleagues and provide technical leadership across teams &##127919; Requirements ✔️ Minimum 10 years of experience as a Data Architect ✔️ Strong expertise in data architecture, data governance, and data modeling ✔️ Deep technical knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including Graph databases ✔️ Experience with Apache NiFi or similar data flow and transformation tools ✔️ Solid understanding of data and application lifecycle management and CI/CD ✔️ Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean ✔️ Familiarity with GDPR and data management in regulated environments ✔️ Experience with modern data concepts such as data lakes, AI, ML, NLP, and real-time processing ✔️ Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills &##128161; Why Join &##127757; Work on data solutions with real societal impact in a highly sensitive environment &##129504; Contribute to large-scale, mission-critical data systems &##128640; Collaborate with experienced professionals using modern data technologies &##128204; Practical Information &##128205; Belgian nationality required &##128483;️ French or Dutch as primary language, with basic knowledge of the other national language and English &##128272; Security clearance at Top Secret level, or willingness to obtain it &##127970; No remote work possible, full-time on-site in Brussels (around Brussels-North) ⏰ Flexible working hours &##128233; Interested?
