Role Overview
An experienced MEP Cost Manager is required to lead pre-construction and cost management activities for complex data centre and life sciences developments. This role will sit at a senior level within the business, combining technical cost leadership with client-facing responsibility, team development and strategic input.
The position will suit a commercially driven professional from a consultancy or advisory background who is comfortable managing multiple projects, leading teams and building long-term client relationships across international programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary commercial and cost management lead for key client accounts, maintaining strong, trusted relationships
Take ownership of pre-construction cost planning, estimates and cost plans for large-scale MEP-intensive developments
Lead the preparation and review of quantities, cost plans and Bills of Quantities for MEP packages
Oversee the use of cost planning and measurement software, ensuring accuracy, consistency and quality of outputs
Manage and mentor multidisciplinary cost management teams, supporting performance, development and succession
Establish and implement quality assurance processes across cost deliverables and project outputs
Provide commercial and technical input into proposal development, tenders and client submissions
Support wider business development, sales and marketing initiatives through technical and commercial expertise
Manage multiple stakeholders and projects across different regions and time zones
Contribute to strategic planning, market positioning and growth of the cost management function
Requirements
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Economics or a related discipline
Minimum 15 years’ experience in cost management, with a strong focus on pre-construction services
Proven background delivering large-scale data centre and or life sciences projects
Advanced experience using CostX or similar measurement and cost planning platforms
Strong technical understanding of MEP systems and packages, with exposure to global project delivery
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, build businesses and develop long-term client partnerships
Chartered status or actively working towards chartership
Commercially astute, with the ability to identify opportunities and support business growth
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
Package
Salary circa €120,000 - 135,000 - DOE
