cutting-edge, Data Engineer
to join our pioneering team and help democratize renewable energy and decarbonization through data.
As a
Data Engineer at Wise Energy
, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, building, and scaling the data backbone of our platform. You'll be at the core of our mission, working on EMS ingestion, time-series data modeling, and high-performance analytical systems that enable businesses to decarbonize and optimize their energy usage with
Wise.Brain

You'll work closely with product, backend, and energy experts to understand real-world energy use cases, ensure data quality and reliability, and expose trusted analytical APIs.
You will build and continuously evolve a robust, high-performance data platform for EMS ingestion, time-series modeling, data quality, and the exposure of reliable analytical APIs.
We're looking for someone ready to take strong ownership of the data platform and grow with us as we scale.

Your main tasks include:
Data Platform Architecture
Design, build, and maintain a robust and scalable data architecture to support EMS ingestion, time-series modeling, and analytical workloads.
Data Ingestion & Pipelines
Develop and operate reliable ingestion pipelines for energy data (EMS, IoT, meters, etc.), ensuring data consistency and scalability.
Data Modeling & Analytics
Model energy data (time-series, costs, scenarios, flexibility) and build optimized SQL functions, views, and aggregations powering Wise.Brain's analytical APIs.
Database Performance & Security
Own the Postgres layer: schema design, query optimization, performance tuning, and implementation of multi-tenant Row-Level Security policies.
Backend & Edge Functions
Develop backend for data processing, validation, asynchronous jobs, and business logic close to the data.
Data Quality & Reliability
Ensure end-to-end data quality and traceability through automated checks, backfills, monitoring, and audits.
Cross-team Collaboration
Work closely with product, backend, and energy experts to translate business and energy use cases into reliable, production-grade data systems.
Innovation and Project management
Proactively propose and implement new ways to manage, model, process, and leverage energy data to help customers decarbonize and optimize their energy usage automatically —

With whom you will be working
You'll work hand-in-hand with our Founder & CEO, Product Owner, and the developper team. You'll be supported by a fast growing group of backend, data, and energy experts.
You'll also regularly interact with other teams to align data capabilities with real-world energy use cases across industries such as industries, manufacturing, logistics, and retail.
