We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Manager (Sports Facilities). The appointee will report to the Head (Sports Development) with primary responsibilities to oversee the facilities and operations of Water Sports Center as well as other sports facilities.

Main duties include but not limited to (a) Management of Water Sports Center and other sports facilities to provide quality service to students and users for promotion of water sports activities; (b) supervision of staff and handling financial and budget matters; (c) compiling and execution of operation policies and guidelines; (d) communication with internal units and external organizations to facilitate water sports development at HKUST; (e) planning of water sports activities and operating power boat during the events; (f) serving as advisor to student clubs in developing sports interests; (g) teach and deliver the fitness, sports skills, personal enrichment and wellness classes and (h) performing other duties as assigned.

Shift duty and work on weekends and public holidays are required.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports or Recreation Management with solid relevant work experience, preferably with management experience in sports/leisure field especially in the area of water sports. Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) is required. The ideal candidate should be holder of the following qualifications: (a) at least one water sport instructor certificate from related National Sports Association of Hong Kong or equivalent; (b) Pleasure Vessel Operator grade 2 certificate issued by the Marine Department of the HKSAR Government or equivalent; and (c) valid first-aid & AED certificates. The ideal candidate should have a passion in water sports and possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Experience in operation of winch & power boat and management of water sports activities is an advantage.

Applicants with a bachelor's degree in non-Physical Education, Sports, or Recreation Management but with extensive relevant work experience will also be considered. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
