Hospitality Talents – Recruitment Agency is currently looking for an experienced and hands-on Director of Sales to join the opening team of our client in Brussels. Our client is preparing the launch of a major new-generation meetings & convention venue in Brussels, scheduled for opening in Q1 2027. The venue will feature approximately 4,000 m² of fully modular event space on one single level, including a plenary capacity of up to 900 guests, multiple flexible meeting rooms, state-of-the-art technology and immersive design. Positioned at the crossroads of premium hospitality, corporate events and high-impact conventions, the venue is set to become a key player in the Brussels MICE landscape. To support this strategic launch, our client is seeking a highly experienced and market-connected Director of Sales (MICE). Position Overview The Director of Sales will be responsible for defining and executing the commercial strategy of the venue, with a strong focus on: Large-scale corporate events Conventions & plenary meetings Institutional and European associations International corporate accounts Event agencies & strategic partners This role is both strategic and hands-on, combining market positioning, revenue development and business leadership. Key Responsibilities Commercial Strategy & Positioning Develop and implement the sales strategy for the Brussels market Position the venue as a leading destination for large-scale corporate events Define pricing structures, commercial policies and segmentation strategy Build long-term revenue forecasting and pipeline visibility Business Development Leverage and expand an existing network within the Brussels MICE ecosystem Target corporate HQs, European institutions, associations and event agencies Secure anchor accounts ahead of opening (pre-sales strategy) Negotiate high-value contracts and multi-year agreements Revenue & Performance Deliver ambitious revenue targets Drive conversion from inquiry to contract Optimize yield and space utilization Monitor market trends and competitor activity Leadership & Collaboration Build and lead the sales team (pre- and post-opening phase) Work closely with Operations, Marketing and Technical Production Contribute to pre-opening planning and go-to-market strategy Profile Minimum 8–10 years of experience in MICE sales or convention business development Proven track record in selling large-scale events (500–900+ guests) Strong knowledge of the Brussels corporate and institutional market Established network with agencies and major accounts Experience in hotels, convention centers or premium event venues Strategic mindset combined with operational agility Fluent in French and English (Dutch is a strong asset) Package A rare opportunity to shape the commercial strategy of a landmark venue Involvement in a high-impact pre-opening project Strategic leadership role with long-term growth potential Competitive compensation package with performance-based incentives
