For our BD & M&A division at our headquarters in Brussels we are looking for an International Business Developer (m/f/x)

The BD department, within the BD & M&A division, is responsible for the international growth of the group. By building on Fluxys' unique strengths and long-standing expertise, we develop new infrastructure and/or energy related projects & partnerships. Seeking an efficient and reliable energy system, we are driven by our positive impact on tomorrow's energy landscape

In the framework of Fluxys' international growth strategy, your mission is to generate new sustainable revenues by developing partnerships, and infrastructure projects turning these into sustainable business activities.

• Business Origination and Development
  • Identify profitable business development opportunities for Fluxys' growth
  • Based on an in-depth market analysis, convert ideas into mature concepts and marketable value propositions, assessing their strategic importance and potential technical, commercial, financial and organisational impacts
  • For mature and promising concepts, move on to the project scoping and structuring phase, including planning and setting up of project governance
  • Establish solid relationships with external stakeholders (partners, customers, authorities, etc.) to create a favourable ecosystem for business development
  • Initiate, structure and negotiate key agreements such as commercial, cooperation, joint development and shareholding agreements, in close collaboration with the different relevant internal experts
• Project Management
  • Together with the different experts of the group, develop all aspects of the business plan (worth 10 M€ to 1 B€) from idea to final investment decision
  • Flag projects & business risks, and elaborate mitigation measures.
  • Monitor the progress of projects and manage the work plan, planning resources and budget
  • Develop and lead the implementation of the service offering, converting opportunities into effective value creation
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams made up of internal stakeholders and experts as well as external partners
  • Organize the integration of projects into the activities of Fluxys and its subsidiaries, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition to the team(s) in charge of the project execution post-FID.
  • Facilitate the internal decision-making process by timely delivering key information, present recommendations to senior management and elaborate presentations for executive committees and boards.

  • Promote Fluxys as a key infrastructure partner for sustainable development
• M&A
  • Support M&A projects of the group on an ad-hoc basis activities

• You hold a master's degree in engineering sciences, business engineering, law, management, or a related field
• You have relevant professional experience with proven track-record in business development and/or industrial project management
• You have strong analytical thinking skills
• You have proven ability to manage industrial projects, from initial idea to final implementation
• You have strong entrepreneurial skills, proactivity and results-driven 
• You have excellent negotiation, inter-personal and communication skills
• You can adapt yourself to a rapidly changing environment and manage uncertainty
• You have strong team spirit
• You are fluent in Dutch and/or French as well as English, ensuring that you feel at home working in an international environment
• You are open for short-term and/or longer-term mobility
