Our client, a leading telecom and digital services organization, is reinforcing its cloud integration and middleware capabilities as part of a large-scale Azure migration program. The Senior Azure Platform & Kubernetes Engineer will support development and operational teams by configuring integration setups, strengthening automation processes, and acting as 2nd line support within a service mesh and cloud-native environment.
Responsibilities:
Configure and support integration setups within Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Istio Service Mesh environments.
Assess incoming integration requests and prepare technical configurations for operational engineering teams.
Support standardized file transfer and messaging solutions using Azure Event Hub and related middleware components.
Troubleshoot cloud and middleware incidents as 2nd line support, leveraging monitoring and logging tools.
Automate and improve deployment processes using scripting and Git-based workflows.
Support development teams in their migration to Azure Cloud and integration into the service mesh.
Train and onboard operational teams, ensuring smooth handover and knowledge transfer.
What are we looking for?
You have a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer or Operational Engineer.
You have strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including AKS, Azure Storage, Azure Event Hub, Event Grid, and Azure monitoring and security services.
You have hands-on experience deploying and managing Istio Service Mesh in enterprise environments.
You are experienced with containerization technologies such as Docker.
You have solid scripting experience in PowerShell, Bicep, Bash, or other Unix shell environments.
You have experience working with GitHub repositories, workflows, and CI/CD release procedures.
You have experience using ArgoCD for deployment automation.
You possess strong knowledge of Azure identity management and access control mechanisms.
You demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and experience in operational support contexts.
You are fluent in English.
Nice to Haves
Kubernetes certification such as CKA or CKAD.
Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-303.
Experience with other service mesh technologies such as Linkerd or Consul.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace or Splunk.
Experience with cloud-native security practices and tools.

Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers
