(Senior) Data Platform/ Data Enablement/ Data modelling/ Data Specialist(Banking; GCP)
Responsibilities
* Platform Architecture: Architect, deploy, and optimize a robust, secure, and scalable data platform on GCP.
* Pipeline Engineering: Design and manage sophisticated batch and near real-time data pipelines to power downstream analytics and production-grade applications.
* Data Modeling & Optimization: Develop high-performance data models that balance cost-efficiency with business agility.
* Empowerment through Self-Service: Lead the adoption of self-service BI tools, enabling business units to derive insights through democratized data access.
* Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Data Scientists, Architects, and stakeholders to translate complex business needs into elegant technical data products.
* Operational Excellence (DataOps/MLOps): Standardize development through CI/CD, automated testing, and rigorous data quality monitoring using frameworks like DBT or Dataform.
* Innovation & GenAI: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, including GenAI (Gemini, etc.), to enhance platform capabilities and automation.
* Governance & Integrity: Ensure all data solutions strictly adhere to banking regulations, security standards, and internal governance frameworks.
Candidate Requirements
Technical Core:
* Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ideally with a background in business analysis.
* Cloud Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, etc.); familiarity with AWS or Azure is a plus.
* Coding & Tools: Mastery of SQL and Python. Experience with SAS or legacy banking data formats is an advantage.
* Data Transformation: Proven track record in data modeling and ETL/ELT development. Experience with DBT or Google Dataform is highly preferred.
* Modern Frameworks: Solid understanding of DataOps/MLOps principles and CI/CD workflows.
Education & Soft Skills:
* Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
* Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Languages: Full professional proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) is required.
* Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in Banking or Financial Services is highly desirable.
