ABOUT FALK & ROSS

To support the accounting team and ensure timely, accurate processing of daily transactions in France, Falk & Ross is looking for an Accounting Clerk (Assistant Accountant).

ROLE PURPOSE

The Accounting Clerk supports the accounting team with day-to-day operational accounting activities. The role focuses on accurate transaction processing, data quality, and administrative follow-up, enabling the GL Accountant to focus on closing, reporting, and compliance.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

  • Process and book incoming customer payments daily

  • Match payments to open invoices and investigate discrepancies
  • Follow up on unidentified or incorrectly referenced payments
  • Support monitoring and clean-up of aged receivables and historical balances
  • Assist with customer master data maintenance

  • ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

  • Scan, register, and book supplier invoices

  • Manage invoice approval workflows and follow-ups
  • Prepare payment proposals under supervision
  • Support timely supplier payments in line with due dates
  • File and archive accounting documentation

  • DATA QUALITY & RECONCILIATIONS

  • Support clean-up of unmatched payments and old open items

  • Assist in maintaining accurate customer and supplier master data
  • Identify recurring documentation or reference issues
  • Ensure accounting records are complete and properly documented

  • DATA QUALITY & RECONCILIATIONS

  • Support daily accounting administration and documentation

  • Assist with preparatory work for month-end closing
  • Support tax and audit documentation preparation under guidance
  • Provide first-line support for internal requests related to accounting data

OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED BEHAVIORS

  • Timely and accurate processing of daily accounting transactions
  • Reduction of unidentified payments and open items
  • Well-organized documentation and approval flows
  • Reliable support to the GL Accountant during closing activities
  • Maintenance of clean customer and supplier balances

PROFILE

  • REQUIRED

  • First experience in accounting, finance administration, or clerical roles

  • Basic understanding of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes
  • Comfortable working with ERP systems and Excel
  • High attention to detail and structured working style
  • Good working knowledge of English and fluent French

  • NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience in a French accounting environment

  • Basic VAT knowledge
  • Experience with high-volume transactional processing or data clean-up
  • Exposure to Sage X3 or similar ERP systems

  • PERSONAL SKILLS

  • Organized, reliable, and hands-on

  • Patient when resolving payment discrepancies
  • Clear communicator able to work in an international environment
  • Team-oriented and supportive mindset
  • Able to prioritize tasks and maintain consistency in repetitive processes

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent contract, Freelance

Pay: €2.500,00 - €3.500,00 per month
