YOUR TASKS

  • At least 70% of your appointment will be dedicated to academic research in cognitive (neuro)science, using neuroscientific methods (preferably non-invasive brain stimulation techniques such as TMS and tES). While expertise in brain stimulation is preferred, we also welcome candidates with strong experience in other scientific methods (e.g., EEG, fMRI, modelling) and encourage them to apply.
  • You will contribute to teaching activities at the Master's level.
  • You will supervise Master's students in their coursework, internships, and Master's theses.
  • You will contribute to ad hoc departmental service and administrative duties.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a doctoral degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or a related field. All degree requirements must be fulfilled by the start of your appointment.
  • For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted.
  • You have extensive experience with brain stimulation methods (TMS and tES). Experts users of other methods (e.g., EEG, fMRI, modelling) will also be considered.
  • You have a solid knowledge of common statistical methods used in experimental psychology and you have programming skills (e.g., Matlas, Python).
  • You have strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • You are highly proficient in English.
  • You have strong time-management and organizational skills and are able to coordinate support activities across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You are a team player and are comfortable taking on a supportive role within collaborative research projects.
  • You have a record of relevant scientific publications in international peer-reviewed academic journals with broad dissemination.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a temporary appointment for a period of 1.5 years. The appointment cannot be renewed
  • Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to 3 years, you can apply. The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term
  • Your appointment will start on 1 April 2026 at the earliest
