Internship Operational Tax Officer

Context
Bank Degroof Petercam is currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our team of Tax experts within the Client Services department of the Shared Business Service Center Operations in Belgium.

As an intern in the Operational Tax team, you will help apply key Belgian tax regulations such as withholding tax, TOB, and the tax on securities accounts. You will support our specialists in delivering high quality tax services to clients by preparing income statements and assisting with required administrative procedures. Your role will also involve analyzing changes in fiscal regulations and understanding their operational impact on the bank. You will collaborate with colleagues across departments and actively participate in internal working groups on taxation topics. This internship is ideal for analytical, curious, and detail oriented individuals eager to gain hands on experience in a leading financial institution.

Your position

• Assist in providing services to clients in the field of tax on movable assets, including the application of double tax treaties and the production of income statements for tax purposes.
• Help with administrative and tax procedures required for the application of double taxation agreements.
• Contribute to the preparation of income statements for clients to support their tax return process.
• Assist colleagues with basic tax-related questions and tasks.
• Support the team in following the evolution of fiscal regulations and analyzing operational impacts.
• Participate in working groups within the bank on topics related to operational taxation.
• Help draft memos and procedures as needed.

Your profile

• Currently pursuing a Master's or Bachelor's degree, preferably with an interest in finance, economics, law, or a related field.
• Eagerness to learn about Belgian and international tax regulations and the banking environment.
• No prior professional experience required; any relevant coursework or academic projects are a plus.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Client-centric, solution-oriented, and a good communicator.
• Positive, team player attitude, and willingness to share and acquire knowledge.
• Fluent in French or Dutch, with a good knowledge of the other language and English.
