Context
About The Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a large-scale Request for Proposal (RFP) process for the outsourcing of a central IT infrastructure platform.
This role is strategically important and requires a strong ability to structure, coordinate and deliver complex IT procurement initiatives within a multi-stakeholder environment. You will collaborate closely with infrastructure architects, engineers, security specialists, and internal governance teams.
You will be the central coordinator of the project, ensuring alignment, consistency, and efficient communication between internal teams and external partners. The mission requires strong leadership, excellent organisation skills, and the ability to operate in a politically sensitive context.
Key Responsibilities
Project Structuring & Coordination
Define and implement the project structure and organisation according to internal guidelines.
Coordinate all stakeholders involved in the RFP: technical teams, legal, procurement, security, architecture, etc.
Lead the drafting and consolidation of the RFP documents.
Planning, Delivery & Governance
Develop, maintain and monitor the project planning, milestones, and sprint objectives.
Ensure strict control over quality, scope, budget and deadlines.
Manage risks, issues and dependencies, providing timely mitigation and escalation where
needed.
Communication & Documentation
Prepare and execute the project communication plan.
Ensure transparent, structured communication with all internal and external teams.
Coordinate project documentation and ensure proper governance throughout the RFP process.
Required Profile
Must Have
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior IT Project Manager in complex IT environments.
Proven experience managing and delivering enterprise IT infrastructure projects (not limited to
application or business projects).
Strong familiarity with project management methodologies (Prince2, PMBOK, etc.).
Demonstrated experience leading projects with multiple stakeholders.
Dutch or French (C1) – excellent communication required in one of these languages.
Good level in English
Higher education degree (Master/Bachelor) in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent
experience.
Should Have
Experience in the Belgian energy market.
Experience with Azure cloud platform projects.
Experience managing RFP processes for IT outsourcing or managed services.
Experience working in politically sensitive environments with many stakeholders (to be
demonstrated during interview).
Soft Skills
Strong leadership and coordination capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to deal with complexity and navigate sensitive political environments.
Structured, detail-oriented and proactive.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced hybrid environment.
Work Environment
Brussels-based project, hybrid working model.
Close collaboration with infrastructure experts, architects, procurement and legal teams.
Part of a 2-profile delivery team (Project Manager + Infrastructure Architect), both from the same
supplier.
