Marketing Automation Specialist


We are looking for an experienced and motivated Business Analyst – Marketing Automation to join our consultancy team specializing in digital, marketing, and sales solutions. In this role, you will help our clients optimize their marketing automation strategy, ensuring personalized customer interactions, seamless campaign execution, and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate business objectives into actionable campaigns and workflows using Adobe Campaign and other marketing automation platforms.
Responsibilities
Marketing Automation Requirements & Solution Design
Lead the elicitation, documentation, and prioritization of business requirements for marketing automation platforms, including campaign workflows, personalization, data models, and integrations.
Translate marketing strategies (lead nurturing, customer retention, mandatory communications) into technical specifications and user stories.
Design use cases, process flows, and A/B testing scenarios tailored to marketing automation capabilities.
Campaign & Workflow Optimization
Configure, monitor, and optimize workflows to improve efficiency, delivery, and engagement.
Analyze campaign performance metrics and recommend improvements.
Troubleshoot functional and technical issues with marketing automation administrators and IT teams.
Data & Compliance Governance
Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, opt-in/out management, financial notifications).
Define and document data mapping, synchronization rules, and audit trails.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Training
Act as the main point of contact between marketing, IT, and administrators.
Conduct workshops, demos, and training sessions to validate designs and support end-users.
Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure campaign outputs meet requirements.
Project Ownership & Continuous Improvement
Take full ownership of marketing automation projects from requirements to deployment.
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and optimize workflows.
Stay updated on platform updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
Experience & Competences
Required:
Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing automation, with hands-on experience in Adobe Campaign or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of requirements elicitation, documentation, and process design.
Experience managing stakeholder expectations and aligning business and technical needs.
Understanding of compliance and risk requirements for regulated communications.
Ability to take end-to-end ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
Fluent in English, and strong written/spoken communication skills in either Dutch or French.
Preferred:
Experience in regulated industries (banking, healthcare, legal).
Knowledge of omnichannel marketing strategies and customer journey mapping.
Experience with other marketing automation tools (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
