Studio Lead



ICF Next creates and implements communication campaigns and services for European institutions. We ensure that the messages of the key EU policies reach the citizens and stakeholders.
This dual-role position combines Studio lead with production management for selected projects. The Studio Lead is responsible for the effective day-to-day running of the design Studio, including resource planning, workflow optimisation, and team lead across Production Managers and Designers. In parallel, the role oversees the end-to-end production of deliverables for assigned projects, ensuring high quality, efficiency, and cost control from briefing to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Lead
Own and optimise the day-to-day operations of the Studio, ensuring effective resource utilisation, workload balance, and delivery.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Production Managers and Designers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Oversee daily studio operations, ensuring optimal allocation and scheduling of design and production management resources.
Review and validate internal effort estimates to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams on production matters.
Continuously improve studio processes, tools, and collaboration methods to increase efficiency and quality.
Identify resource needs and contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and team scaling when required.
Production management
Lead full production lifecycle for some projects—from intake to final delivery.
Partner with Creative teams and Project Managers to align expectations, feasibility, and timelines.
Translate briefs into clear, actionable technical specifications.
Build and manage production schedules and capacity plans; identify risks early and propose mitigation strategies.
Balance project scope, timelines, and budgets to ensure delivery.
Conduct quality checks to ensure all deliverables meet brand guidelines, visual standards, and technical specifications.
Ensure accurate linguistic versioning where required across multi‑market adaptations.
Source, brief, and manage external suppliers for production services.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Print/Production Management, Communications, or related field—or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 5 years of production management experience in an agency or in‑house studio, with solid exposure to print production.
Proven track record delivering multi‑format campaigns.
Strong experience sourcing, managing, and evaluating external suppliers.
Excellent understanding of production timelines, budgeting, quality assurance, and design workflow coordination.
