Lead SAP BASIS Consultant

Overview

Being part of our groupwide SAP Basis team, this position provides architectural direction to our clients. As a lead technical architect, you will build upon our technology and craft processes to operate, innovate and grow. Working with the infrastructure and functional SAP teams, you will drive SOA People’s technology roadmap and ongoing lifecycle support, including pre-sales assessments, scoping, planning, implementation and testing.

As a senior SAP BASIS Consultant you will design, develop and support our SAP solutions. Your responsibilities include:

• Perform complete SAP landscape upgrades, migrations, installations and technical change management projects in close interaction with the client on site.
• Play a key role in the full project lifecycle, from initial setup of the project to final delivery.
• Work with the client to analyse their requirements: prepare and participate in workshops, document requirements.
• Incorporate innovative products and architectures in existing and new SAP landscapes (Cloud Solutions, SAP HANA, SSO, mobile devices, etc.).
• Coach or lead different tracks and take on more responsibility as you grow in your career.

The ideal candidate is an expert in SAP BASIS with deep knowledge of system administration and technical architecture, with proven experience in SAP HANA and related technologies.

As a principal SAP BASIS Consultant, you will be tasked with developing a strong positioning and related proposition in the local market for our Virtual Private Cloud Hosting in the Dutch, French, Belgian and German regions.

In line with this role you will be responsible for the following general tasks:

• Work with the Group Hosting Director to support local business development of the corresponding offers and propositions.
• Coordinate with the Sales and Pre-Sales teams to deliver added value to customers and prospects by adding technical content to proposals and solution presentations.
• Focus on positioning and supporting sales on our hosting offering.
• Coordinate the related delivery capabilities to also deliver on the promises.
• Keep hosting as the clear primary focus in daily activities.

Key abilities

Business Development Requirements:

• The ability to work effectively with Professional Sales and Pre-sales.
• A clear understanding and aptitude at building broadly based professional relationships within numerous client organizations.
• A clear understanding of the sales process including lead generation, lead qualification, consensus building, champion identification, scope definition, proposal building, proposal tailoring and sales presentations, with a clear view of the proposition.

Technical Requirements:

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with:

• SAP Basis technology.
• Implementations, installations, upgrades, migrations, conversions.
• Database management of different databases (HANA, DB2, ASE and MSSQL).
• The following SAP domains: SAP NetWeaver, SAP Cloud Platform, S/4HANA, SAP Fiori and Mobility, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Security (Authorizations, GRC, Identity management).
• Operating systems like AIX, Windows and Linux.

Professional Requirements:

• Senior SAP Basis skills – 10+ years.
• Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent by experience.
• Good SAP technical architecture knowledge.
• Ability to explain complex technical subjects in simple language to non-technical people.
• Commitment to quality and successful project delivery.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to staff – an effective mentor and leader.
• Proven ability to apply analytical and creative thinking.
• Proven ability to deliver high-profile activities within tight timescales.
• Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment (team player).
• Proven experience in supporting sales life cycles.
• Ability to function effectively with customers including senior-level client executives.
• Positive professional attitude and work ethic.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French and/or German is a plus.
