Job Overview

Automation (AVEVA) Engineer – Capgemini Engineering, Brussels, Belgium. Focus on automation systems, PLC logic, and AVEVA platform support with strong emphasis on debugging, monitoring, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze PLC backups: navigate, identify relevant logic, and interpret operations.
• General understanding of PLC functionality (Siemens preferred).
• No programming required, but ability to read Ladder, Block, and SCL logic.
• Debug, monitor, and troubleshoot Aveva platform communication, performance, and logs.
• Interpret security routines: backup/restore, IT interactions, and Active Directory integration.
• Understand Aveva software structure and duplicate or adapt existing objects.
• Write SQL queries for data extraction and reporting; troubleshoot SSRS/SSMS issues.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Automation or Electrical Engineering (or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience).
• Strong PLC logic interpretation and backup navigation skills.
• Experience debugging, monitoring, and object handling on AVEVA platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL, SSMS, and SSRS for report writing and troubleshooting.
• Fluent in English; good proficiency in French.
