Developer Consultant Coldfusion (DEV) – Brussels

For an EU agency in Brussels, we are looking for a Developer Consultant Coldfusion (DEV).

1. Nature of the main tasks

• Responsible for development and maintenance of software applications
• Development and integration of software components
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
• Maintenance of code integrity and organisation
• Writing clean, functional code on the front-end
• Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement
• Production of technical documentation
• Testing and fixing bug fixes or other coding issues
• Systems integration
• Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system

2. Knowledge and competences

• Good programming experience
• Experience in Web security, authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth, Open ID Connect)
• Understanding of key design principles
• Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly
• Knowledge on either GIS, Front-end, Back-end or Full-stack development

GIS

• Geospatial data analysis
• Provides support to Developers who need to interface with GIS system

Front-end

• CSS: ability to implement CSS scripts to replicate application design blueprints
• Bootstrap: ability to develop responsive web sites for both desktop and mobile layouts
• HTML5
• Development of user interfaces for web or mobile
• Web Application Security
• Web Services: Ability to design and develop Web Services, Services REST or SOAP
• Windows and Linux

Tools and Methodologies

• Experience with tools: Git, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Nexus, Crucible, Jenkins, Sonar, GitHub
• Integrated development environments: Eclipse Foundation Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, JetBrains PhpStorm
• Software development Lifecycle: Atlassian tools, GitHub, ServiceNow
• Methodologies: Project Management PM² and PM² Agile, Agile Software development: Kanban & Scrum

3. Certification and Standards

• At least one of the following certifications

Language Skills: English at C1 level minimum.
Work Environment: International and multicultural environment.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

5. Service Delivery

The client requires the consultants to go onsite 2 days a week (it might change in the future to 3 days a week). Please note that remote work from abroad is not permitted. All consultants need to live/relocate to Belgium. The services will be carried out on a full-time basis at the Commission’s premises in Brussels (on site / Hybrid mode). Equipment will be provided by the Commission.

CVs must be presented in Europass format and in English. The CVs should clearly highlight the candidate’s experience and the technologies used.
