Finance Associate (Debt Finance)
Location: Brussels
Experience: Minimum 3 years PQE
A leading US law firm is seeking to appoint a Finance Associate to join its well-established Brussels office. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-quality, cross-border transactions within a highly regarded international finance practice.
The Role
The successful candidate will focus on a broad range of finance matters, with a particular emphasis on debt finance. You will work closely with partners and colleagues across multiple jurisdictions, advising a diverse client base that includes financial institutions, funds, corporates, and sponsors.
The role will involve exposure to complex and often international transactions, providing an excellent platform for continued technical development and career progression within a top-tier US firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on a wide range of financing transactions, including leveraged finance, acquisition finance, and general corporate lending
- Supporting on debt capital markets and financial services transactions, where relevant
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating finance documentation
- Coordinating with international teams on cross-border matters
- Managing aspects of transactions with increasing autonomy as experience grows
Candidate Requirements
- At least 3 years post-qualification experience, or equivalent, with a strong focus on finance transactions
- Solid experience in debt finance, debt capital markets, and/or financial services matters
- Trained at, or currently working within, a recognised international or top-tier firm
- Strong technical ability and a commercial, solutions-focused mindset
- Excellent communication and drafting skills
Language Requirements
- Fluent English is essential
- Working proficiency in French or Dutch is required, with both being advantageous
