Senior AI Engineer – Daily Rate Contract

Working Model: Hybrid – 2 to 3 days onsite in Brussels

Daily Rate Contract – 12 Months (Permanent option also available)

Stelfox is seeking an experienced Senior AI Engineer to join one of our key clients based in Brussels . This is a senior, hands-on role suited to a strong software engineer with deep expertise in cloud-based AI and machine learning solutions, who enjoys leading by example in a multidisciplinary environment.

The Role:

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will play a central role in designing, building, and evolving cloud-based AI services that bring advanced data analytics and machine learning models into real business use.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and evolution of architecture and design for AI, data analytics, and machine learning cloud services
• Drive initiatives to improve the performance, scalability, and robustness of Cloud AI services, including data engineering and ML algorithms
• Contribute hands-on to the software development of AI platforms and services
• Ensure high-quality deliverables across functionality, performance, security, and reliability
• Support, guide, and mentor team members while improving overall team productivity

Key Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific field
• Proven experience delivering AI and data analytics solutions into operational business environments
• Strong background in machine learning, representation learning, and embedding techniques
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow
• Experience developing and deploying cloud services on AWS
• Excellent software engineering skills with strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with graph learning and Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Knowledge of graph learning libraries (e.g. PyTorch Geometric )
• Familiarity with interactive visualisation tools such as Streamlit, Gradio, or Dash
• Experience producing high-quality technical documentation and reports
• Proficiency with software development and maintenance tools (e.g. GitHub )
• Able to work independently, proactively, and with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
