YOUR TASKS

  • At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research (more specifically in the field of 'competition').
  • You will assist in guiding Master's dissertations.
  • You supervise doctoral students.
  • You provide educational support for law courses, offered by the Department, more specifically for the 'Private Law' courses in the study programmes Business Administration and Public Administration and Management). These courses are offered exclusively in Dutch.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a doctoral degree in 'Business Economics' or an equivalent diploma, and preferably a doctoral degree in 'Business Economics and Law'. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted. The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment.
  • You have conducted research at the intersection between economics and law, preferably with a focus on market regulation.
  • You have a strong interest in student supervision within an academic program in in the field of law.
  • You have relevant scientific publications in widely disseminated international and national scientific journals that rely on experts for the review of submitted manuscripts.
  • You have experience in teaching legal courses.
  • You have experience presenting research papers at international forums.
  • You have a good network within the national and international regulators and judicial institutions.
  • You have an international network within the research area of Law and Economics.
  • International mobility is recommended.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a temporary appointment for a period of 1 year. The appointment be renewed upon approval by the Faculty Council;
  • Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to 3 years, you can apply. The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term
  • Your appointment will start on 1 April 2026 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined according to salary scale AAP5. More information about our salary scales.
