IAM Analyst Architect

ACENSI BELGIUM is looking for his client an IAM Analyst Architect (F/M/X)
Role Overview
The Identity & Access Management (IAM) Analyst/Architect plays a central role in defining, optimizing, and governing IAM processes within the organization. This role focuses on IAM strategy, governance, operating model design, and regulatory compliance, rather than hands-on system administration. The position requires close collaboration with Human Resources, IT Infrastructure teams, and Business Units, and serves as the functional lead for IAM-related tools within the organization's environment.
Core Responsibilities
1. IAM Strategy & Operating Model
• Perform GAP analysis of the current IAM landscape.
• Define and validate the Target Operating Model for IAM.
• Develop and formalize the company-wide IAM strategy.
• Align IAM governance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIS2, GDPR) and security principles.
• Define and revise the IAM operating model (governance, processes, controls).
2. IAM Lifecycle & Governance
• Design and optimize Joiner–Mover–Leaver (JML) processes in collaboration with HR.
• Define and maintain:
o Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) models
o Attribute
-Based Access Control (ABAC) principles
• Maintain and periodically validate business roles and related attributes.
• Initiate and oversee user access re-certification processes.
•Define monitoring and reporting mechanisms for access governance.
3. PAM & Privileged Access Governance
• Contribute to the definition and challenge of PAM solutions (e.g., password vaulting, WALLIX or
equivalent).
• Assess and validate PAM operating models and technical designs.
• Ensure proper governance over privileged accounts.
4. IAM Architecture & Integration
• Contribute to the design and integration of IAM domains:
o MFA
o SSO / Web SSO
o Passwordless authentication
• Understand and challenge technical integration flows (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, APIs).
• Work with Active Directory / Entra ID and IGA solutions from a governance and data flow perspective (not as a system administrator).
5. Compliance & Audit
• Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements (GDPR, NIS2).
• Independently assess compliance gaps and propose remediation measures.
• Regularly review IAM documentation to ensure alignment with current practices.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
6. Process Optimization & Automation
• Identify opportunities to automate IAM processes and workflows.
• Propose improvements to streamline provisioning and recertification.
• Develop reporting mechanisms to detect:
o Provisioning inconsistencies.
o Role conflicts.
o Segregation of Duties (SoD) risks.
Required Experience
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in IAM process definition and improvement (JML & recertification).
• Proven experience with:
o IAM operating model definition or revision.
o RBAC framework design.
o PAM and password vaulting solutions.
o IAM integrations (MFA, SSO, Entra ID, IGA).
• Strong understanding of identity data flows and provisioning principles.
• Experience challenging technical IAM designs at both functional and architectural levels.
Nice to Have
• Scripting and process automation experience.
• Strong Excel skills (data analysis, reporting).
• Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, NIS).
• Knowledge of IAM integration standards (SAML, OAuth, OIDC).
