Global Sensory Program Leader


As a member of our client's Global Sensory & Consumer Science (GS&CS) Group, you will develop strong internal and external sensory expertise to support global innovation and strategic projects. You will provide practical sensory insights to project leaders and multidisciplinary teams, with a direct impact on the development of products, processes, and packaging.

You will choose the most suitable combination of product space, methodology, and research techniques to clearly answer project and business questions. In addition, you will play an active role in further developing sensory capabilities and working methods within the six zones and 14 core countries, ensuring that teams worldwide have the right tools and expertise at their disposal.

Job description:

As Lead Global Sensory Panel, you will be responsible for managing, developing, and strengthening both internal and external sensory panels worldwide. You will play a crucial role in conducting sensory research, ensuring panel quality, and rolling out global best practices within the sensory field.

  • Leading the internal Global Sensory Panel

  • Coordinating and leading the internal stability and exploration panel (5 sessions per week).

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining relevant training programs to ensure panel consistency and expertise.
  • Conduct a variety of sensory research studies, such as descriptive or rapid profiling methods, discrimination tests, attribute generation, and product stability assessments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define sensory research designs, create schedules, organize data collection, analyze results, and communicate insights to internal stakeholders.

  • Coordinating the external sensory panel

  • Planning and organizing sensory evaluations with external trained panels, including descriptive profiling, time-based characterization, exploratory research, and discrimination tests.

  • Coordinating training and assessment sessions to ensure that external panels comply with sensory guidelines and quality standards.

  • Expanding and rolling out global sensory capabilities

  • Defining global best practices and developing training modules for relevant sensory methodologies within the organization.

  • Monitoring and supporting global panel maintenance programs, with a focus on descriptive research and product stability.
  • Supporting the piloting, testing, and implementation of new sensory methodologies within the global network.

Requirements
:

  • Higher degree in Sensory & Consumer Science, Food Science & Technology, Brewing, or Chemistry.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
  • Demonstrable experience as a panel leader with successful implementation of sensory activities.
  • Proficiency in data collection software such as EyeQuestion, Fizz, or Compusense (use and programming).
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (including Excel statistics).
  • Strong understanding of sensory methodologies: descriptive analyses, discrimination tests, stability tests, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including basic statistics (ANOVA, PCA).
  • Ability to interpret sensory results and translate them into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and commercial teams.
  • Knowledge of beer analysis or related categories (wine, spirits, cocktails, cider, soft drinks).
  • Understanding of brewing processes and flavor science is a plus.
