Pay Range: $71,661 - $93,159 annual compensation

A Management Analyst II job is available with the City of Fort Worth – Human Resources, Risk Management division. The position will perform a wide variety of complex research and analytical duties related to organizational analysis and budget preparation and monitoring.

The Management Analyst II must be self-motivated and well-adapted to work under pressure while meeting deadlines with speed, accuracy, and a professional attitude, as well as demonstrate the ability to be creative and strategic across a range of projects and work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in the analysis of processes, procedures, operations, data, systems or methods, including experience in the functional areas of assignment such as budget/financial management, research analysis, or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with benchmark analysis and analytical research
  • Experience with municipal budgeting principles
  • Experienced with preparing complex analytical reports
  • Experienced with PeopleSoft Financials
  • Experience with procure process

The Management Analyst II job responsibilities include: 

  • Develops periodic reports on the data analysis conducted. These reports may include tables, charts, and graphs depicting the data analysis
  • Prepares written work products, research memoranda, and presentations that clearly describe complex analyses, findings, and actionable recommendations
  • Conducts ongoing budget analysis throughout the fiscal year; complies, reviews, and analyzes budget submissions to ensure alignment with financial goals and policies
  • Develops and manages allocations for Workers' Compensation, monitoring claims, and forecasting potential liabilities
  • Provides day-to-day financial support, including general ledger reconciliations, budget transfers, and encumbrance management, and monitors departmental expenditures
  • Assists in the preparation of financial forecasts, trend analyses, and scenario modeling to support strategic planning and decision making
  • Reviews and identifies opportunities for process improvement in reporting, budgeting, and data analysis workflows
  • Support division purchasing functions
  • Manages City Wide Statement of Values, for property procurement

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.  

Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
