About the role
Our client is an international media company, and they are looking for a Senior Video Product Manager fluent in English and Arabic to work on Video Workflows (Digital, Broadcast & OTT Platforms) within their Digital Division.
As a Senior Video Product Manager, you will bring together the best of both worlds - deep technical expertise in video workflows and codecs , and strong product ownership skills in fast-moving broadcast, digital, and OTT environments.
You’ll bridge engineering, editorial, and design teams to define, document, and deliver scalable, data-driven video workflows. This role demands someone who can speak fluently about bitrate ladders, codecs, and APIs , but also prioritize backlogs, create BPMN diagrams , and turn technical opportunities into clear product outcomes .
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end video workflow roadmap , spanning ingest, transcoding, metadata, storage, and delivery.
- Translate technical requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and Jira tickets for Agile development teams.
- Work with engineering teams to integrate and optimize video and data APIs across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Design and document complex media workflows using BPMN 2.0 , making processes visible, measurable, and automatable.
- Define video encoding and delivery specifications , including codec choices , container formats , HDR profiles , and streaming parameters , to ensure consistent quality across platforms.
- Drive efficiency improvements and consistency in editorial publishing workflows.
- Partner with Quality teams to build quality check automations and monitor video quality, performance, and playback reliability.
- Evaluate and apply emerging trends in adaptive streaming, CMAF, AI-assisted encoding, and emerging codecs .
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and cross-team reviews , ensuring business priorities align with technical delivery.
What We’re Looking For
- Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
- You must live either in the Middle East or Europe .
Must-Have Experience - Core Technical Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in media encoding, codec optimization, or OTT/broadcast delivery engineering.
- Expert knowledge of video and audio codecs (H.264, HEVC, AV1, AAC, AC-3), container formats (MP4, MXF, TS, MOV), and streaming protocols (HLS, DASH, RTMP, SRT).
- Experience integrating 3rd-party video APIs or OTT delivery services.
- Proven experience with FFmpeg, Vantage, AWS Media Services, GCP Transcoder, or equivalent transcoding frameworks.
- Strong understanding of workflow orchestration, media QC , and cloud-based video processing (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with metadata standards (EBUCore, IMF, JSON, XML) and automated quality control systems (BATON, Vidcheck, Aurora)
Must-Have Experience - Core Product Management
- 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager in media or technology organizations.
- Proficiency in BPMN diagramming (Bizagi, Lucidchart, Miro, or equivalent).
- Skilled in Agile methodologies and Jira for managing sprints and tracking progress.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation and business requirements.
- Strong communicator and collaborator, comfortable working across engineering, product, and editorial teams.
- Proven experience building and communicating product roadmaps using tools such as Productboard.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with AI/ML video quality assessment or intelligent encoding .
- Familiarity with APIs and supporting frameworks for media platforms .
- Understanding CDN performance optimization and playback analytics.
- Experience with AI development IDEs and models.
