Solution Architect - Energy sector


Overview

A Solution Architect designs and manages IT solutions within the energy sector, with a strong focus on supporting market processes, data management, and the exchange of customer and market information. In this role, you act as the link between the business needs of stakeholders and their technical implementation, with particular attention to central platforms that enable effective market operations.

Responsibilities

  • Solution design: Developing robust and future-proof IT solutions for data management and data exchange.
  • Technical strategy: Translating business and market requirements into a clear technical architecture and strategy.
  • Platform support: Contributing to the development and management of central platforms, including non-functional testing and the implementation of supporting tools.
  • Operational support: Supporting daily market operations through efficient planning and monitoring tools.

Context

  • Central role: The organisation fulfils a key function in data management and the support of market processes.
  • Collaboration: Close cooperation with network operators and other market parties is essential.
  • Sector contribution: This role contributes to the continued professionalisation and efficiency of the energy sector within a liberalised market.

Qualifications

  • Education & knowledge : Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • Experience : Relevant experience in solution or IT architecture, preferably within complex or regulated sectors (energy, telecoms, finance, etc.).
  • Technical skills : Knowledge of integration patterns, data exchange, middleware, and the execution of non-functional testing (NFR).
  • Analytical ability : Strong capability to translate business processes and needs into technical solutions.
  • Collaboration : Comfortable in a role with extensive stakeholder management; able to bridge the gap between business and IT.
  • Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch OR French AND English.
  • Personality : Proactive, solution-oriented, structured, and able to maintain oversight in a complex environment.
