Senior Functional Analyst
We're looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to join our client's team for a major transformation project: the replacement of the current ERP/accounting solution within an evolving business context. You translate business needs into workable technical solutions by turning complex requirements into clear, detailed functional specifications.
Role & context
You'll act as the bridge between finance/operations stakeholders and IT delivery teams, balancing business objectives, technical feasibility and user experience. Proven hands-on functional analysis experience in ERP and/or accounting systems is mandatory—candidates without this background will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Analyse and document functional requirements, specifications, use cases and process flows, with a strong focus on finance processes such as:
general ledger (GL)
accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
cost allocation
financial reporting
Perform gap analyses between current and target ERP/accounting capabilities and identify improvement opportunities within the existing landscape
Maintain documentation on integrations between the ERP/accounting system and other internal/external systems, including support for data migration and integration activities
Design and execute functional test scenarios for financial workflows; coordinate UAT and validate that delivered solutions meet requirements
Facilitate workshops and design sessions with finance stakeholders and IT teams; serve as a proactive liaison between business, developers and technical experts
Co-lead an external implementation team for the integration of the new ERP/accounting system and the migration from the legacy solution (from planning and coordination through delivery and go-live support)
Train end users on new ERP functionality and updated finance processes; support production issues and analyse change requests
Provide functional leadership to the development team during planning, estimation and delivery of related development work
Mentor/guide other analysts supporting the project
Ideal candidate
Senior-level experience (typically ~8+ years) in functional and/or business analysis
Demonstrable experience analysing ERP and/or accounting systems (non-negotiable)
Strong requirements engineering skills: use cases, process modelling, UML and/or mock-ups, conceptual modelling, BPM
Comfortable working in Agile environments and using JIRA & Confluence
Strong stakeholder management, communication and analytical skills
Experience leading development teams from a project management perspective is a plus
Domain knowledge of a Belgian recycling ecosystem is a plus
Language requirements
Dutch: professional working proficiency (project environment is mainly Dutch-speaking
