GC Corporation was founded in 1921 in Japan and has developed itself into one of the most prominent companies in the development, production and distribution of a very wide range of dental products. Since 1972 GC Europe NV, our European Head Office is located at the Researchpark Haasrode in Leuven. GC Europe NV supports and leads our different sales offices and dealers. Our warehouse spreads our products to Europe, Middle East and Africa. Next to this we produce some leading products for dental technicians.
For our European Head Office in Leuven, Belgium, we are currently looking for a
Senior Legal Counsel (in Leuven, Belgium)
to ensure that the GC Europe Group organization complies with all applicable local, national and European legal requirements and to act as a first point of contact for all GC Europe Group companies regarding legal affairs. This position reports directly to the COO & President function.
Main responsibilities
- Independently provide legal advice to questions related to different legal aspects submitted from different departments and entities of the GC Europe Group organization.
- Draft, develop, negotiate, verify, implement and manage contracts and/or legal documents between all entities of the GC Europe Group organization and third parties, to avoid, mitigate or transfer legal risks.
- Establish a legal framework for new projects at GC Europe Group to ensure legally correct implementation.
- Develop, draft and follow up the GC Europe Group organization`s strategy to ensure optimal protection of its intellectual property rights / assets from both a legal and a business standpoint.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and data protection, anti-bribery and other rules within the organization.
- Exchange information, consult, hold meetings and negotiate with insurance offices, official bodies such as ministries, authorities, consultants, lawyers, notaries and all other third parties as a legal point of contact for the GC Europe Group organization.
- Ensure you are well informed about the developments within the legislative framework, change and implement new legislation to guarantee the correct anticipation and application of it within the organization.
- Give leadership and guidance to a more junior legal colleague under your supervision.
Requirements
- Master of Laws from an EU University
- At least 7 years of experience (in an international environment and/or in the life sciences industry considered a plus)
- Preferably a first experience in people management
- Fluent in English and Dutch, German considered a plus
- Independent self-starter but also a team-player
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good level of MS Office tools
