Trade & Category Manager

Your role:

As Trade & Category Manager, you are the connecting force between Marketing, Sales and our retail partners. You translate market data, shopper insights and brand strategies into concrete, actionable recommendations that help our categories grow. Thanks to your work, we create shelves that are logical, inspiring and profitable.

You report to the Sr. Trade & Category Manager and work closely with internal teams such as Business Teams, Marketing, Sales and our design department. Your strong analytical skills will bring the category to the next level.

What will you do?

Category & shopper projects with retailers

  • Develop, implement and evaluate Category Management projects with our customers.
  • Optimize assortments and shelf layouts in line with Dr. Oetker principles and retailer/market realities.
  • Increase the in-store visibility of our brands based on market and shopper insights.
  • Prepare Business Reviews and support Sales during customer meetings.
  • Advise retailers on product introductions and innovations.

Analysis & data-driven recommendations

  • Use tools such as Nielsen, YouGov and retailer data platforms to analyse trends, performance and growth opportunities.
  • Deliver both standard and ad hoc analyses that result in clear, impactful recommendations.
  • Safeguard data quality and collaborate with external datapartners to maximise insights.

Internal collaboration & strategic contribution

  • Report regularly on category and brand performance.
  • Build launch presentations, business review decks and internal analyses.
  • Support the development of annual plans and translate them into customer-focused actions.
  • Provide shopper and category insights for NPD, promotions, space optimisation and assortment decisions.
  • Play an active role within Business Teams and contribute to strategic decision-making.

What do you bring?

  • A bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in a commercial field.
  • Initial professional experience (2–3 years) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and an affinity with retail, sales or marketing.
  • Native proficiency in Dutch or French, with a strong command of the second national language. You are able to conduct professional customer conversations in both languages.
  • A social team player: flexible, driven, curious and a strong communicator.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You combine analytical thinking with creativity and communicate ideas clearly and convincingly.
