Data Scientist

For an international organization with a strong digital and e-commerce focus, we are looking for a Data Scientist who will help improve how customers discover products and navigate the online platform.

In this role, you will design, prototype and deploy machine learning models that enhance search capabilities and support intelligent product discovery. You will work closely with Data Science, Engineering and IT teams to build scalable data pipelines and translate advanced AI solutions into reliable production systems.

Your work will directly contribute to improving the digital customer experience and strengthening the organization’s e-commerce ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test and deploy machine learning models supporting search and product discovery.
• Design scalable data pipelines and ML solutions for production environments.
• Improve search relevance and retrieval performance within the e-commerce platform.
• Work closely with engineering and IT teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into operational systems.
• Contribute to experimentation, model validation and continuous improvement of ML models.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

Your Profile

Machine Learning & Data Science

• Strong experience with core ML techniques such as classification, clustering, forecasting and feature engineering.
• Solid understanding of model evaluation, experimentation and optimization.

Search & Information Retrieval

• Knowledge of vector search, embeddings, NLP and transformer architectures.
• Experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, OpenSearch or similar platforms is a strong plus.

Generative AI & LLMs

• Experience with prompt engineering and working with transformer-based models.
• Familiarity with LLM fine-tuning, synthetic data generation or agentic AI approaches is considered an asset.

MLOps & Engineering

• Experience with containerization and deployment tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows (e.g. GitLab CI, Jenkins, Argo).

Collaboration

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across Data Science, Engineering and IT teams.
• Pragmatic mindset with the ability to work in evolving environments.
