Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 50% onsite / 50% remote

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our banking client in Brussels.
The successful candidate will support data-driven decision-making by collecting, processing, and analysing complex datasets.
You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and meaningful insights for management and operational teams.
This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, clean, validate, and integrate data from multiple internal and external sources
Analyse datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
Develop and maintain data solutions in complex environments
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements
Ensure data integrity, governance, and compliance with internal standards
Translate complex datasets into clear insights and actionable recommendations
Support remediation plans through structured data analysis
Work autonomously while maintaining alignment with the wider team
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics or Data Engineering
Strong proficiency in SQL
Knowledge of SAS
Experience with data pooling and sampling techniques
Experience building data solutions in complex environments
Advanced Excel skills, including VBA
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
Preferred Experience
Experience in banking or financial services
Knowledge of data governance and GDPR compliance
Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
