Title: Solution & Technical Architect
Location: Brussels, Belgium | Hybrid – 3 days onsite
Duration: 6 months
Job role:
The organization is undergoing a major IT transformation, modernizing legacy systems toward Cloud/hybrid architectures while ensuring compliance with NIS2 regulations. Core systems support unemployment regulation, payments, debt management, and financial accounting.
The architect will ensure secure, scalable, and compliant system evolution during this transformation.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the design of secure, scalable Cloud & hybrid architectures
Translate enterprise strategy into practical, implementable technical blueprints
Drive Security by Design principles across systems
Architect high-availability, resilient, and performance-optimized solutions
Provide architectural leadership across integration, data modelling, and scalability
Guide engineering teams on modern architectural patterns and Cloud adoption
Lead architectural reviews, governance, and technical decision-making
Bridge business, security, and engineering stakeholders
Ensure compliance within a regulated European environment
Required Skills:
10+ years' experience designing complex enterprise architectures
Strong Cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Deep Java knowledge (Spring, microservices, API & event-driven design)
Containerisation/orchestration experience (OpenShift preferred)
Strong database & data modelling experience (MySQL)
Experience with messaging systems, REST/GraphQL integrations
Strong understanding of security standards & regulatory compliance (NIS2 highly desirable)
Proven experience designing resilient, high-availability systems
Education:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Professional Cloud/Architecture certifications (preferred)
Language:
Full professional fluency in French, Dutch, and English
