Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master (Expert level) to join a cross-functional Agile squad within a banking environment. The Scrum Master will act as the key reference for Agile methodology within the squad, ensuring optimal understanding and application of Scrum principles while protecting the team from internal and external distractions. You will play a critical servant-leader role, coaching the squad and stakeholders, enabling continuous improvement, and driving delivery excellence. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Follow-up & Delivery Management Set up, facilitate, and ensure effectiveness of Scrum ceremonies: Daily Stand-ups Sprint Planning Sprint Reviews Retrospectives Schedule and monitor key Agile milestones and methodology steps Ensure smooth and consistent application of Scrum practices Support the team in maintaining and refining: Product Backlog Sprint Backlog Definition of Done (DoD) Track team capacity, velocity, and delivery metrics Ensure backlog consistency and proper configuration in Jira Assist in risk & issue management 2. Agile Coaching & Team Enablement Promote gradual self-organization within the squad Remove impediments and barriers to team effectiveness Shield the team from external distractions and disruptions Coach stakeholders and business lines on effective Agile interactions Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement Encourage cross-functional collaboration within Agile teams 3. Methodology & Governance Guarantee adherence to Agile and Scrum best practices Ensure alignment with IT strategy and broader organizational objectives Support teams in understanding software development lifecycle best practices Encourage use of automation and quality engineering principles Required Experience & Skills Experience Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Scrum Master Proven experience in Banking environment Expert knowledge of Agile methodologies and techniques Strong Agile coaching experience Technical Knowledge (Mandatory) Strong knowledge of Agile reporting and tracking tools (e.g., Jira) Understanding of: Automated unit testing Automated functional testing Continuous Integration tooling Sound knowledge of: Software development methodologies Project management methodologies Education & Certification Master's degree or equivalent experience Scrum Master Certification (mandatory) Language Requirements French: Fluent English: Fluent Dutch: Not required Agile Environment Expectations Agile teams are cross-functional, incorporating all necessary disciplines (analysis, development, testing, etc.). Although each team member has a primary discipline, they are expected to contribute across roles when necessary to achieve sprint goals.
