System Architect (EN + FR/EN)

Job Title

System Architect – French and/or Dutch, and English - ALTEN Belgium

The Position

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a System Architect to join our teams and work on client projects located in Brussels.

As a System Architect, your main responsibilities will include:

• Clarify high-level functionalities of the EBP program in collaboration with the customer (Infrabel) and document them

• Propose architectural solutions aligned with long-term vision and operational constraints

• Ensure system design choices are future-proof and serviceable

• Translate requirements into high-level architecture while ensuring consistency across teams

• Participate in safety and security activities such as TRA and FMEA

• Support development teams during implementation and provide architectural guidance

• Deliver documentation and planning artifacts in accordance with quality processes

Your Profile

• Engineering degree in computer science, electronics, or equivalent professional experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in system architecture and software lifecycle

• Proficiency in the following tools and skills: UML, data modeling, UI application design, software implementation, network and security infrastructure (firewalls, servers, web portals…)

• Language(s): French and/or Dutch, and English

• Strong experience in requirement gathering and workshop facilitation

• Ability to produce structured and complete documentation

• Willingness to modernize legacy systems in safety-critical environments

• Knowledge of signalization business is a plus but not mandatory
