Rust Developer – English - ALTEN Belgium

The Position

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Rust Developer to join our teams and work on client projects located in Brussels.

As a Rust Developer, your main responsibilities will include:

• Analyse, design, document and implement key features as outlined in the development roadmap

• Lead or support the design and implementation of core system modules

• Facilitate the transition from C to Rust through mentoring and knowledge sharing

• Ensure high precision and reliability of code in safety-critical environments

• Participate in technical choices regarding engineering methods, tools and team organization

• Contribute to safety and security-related activities including TRA and FMEA

Your Profile

• Engineering degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position

• Proficiency in the following tools: Rust (expert), C (very good), Linux (basic dev/debug), Git, scripting languages (Python, Bash - nice to have), Java (nice to have)

• Language(s): English (French and/or Dutch is an asset)

• Meticulous and precise, especially in safety-critical contexts

• Strong communicator and team player

• Proactive in seeking information and proposing solutions

• Motivated, innovative, and hands-on
