Who We Are
The Africa Political Outlook (APO) is a leading strategic platform dedicated to the political, diplomatic, and economic renaissance of the African continent. Since its inception in 2023, APO has brought together over 1,000 participants, 50+ government decision-makers, 4 heads of government, and representatives from more than 50 countries for high-level dialogues shaping the future of governance in Africa.
For its 4th edition, the summit will take place on March 26 and 27, 2026, in Brussels (AfricaMuseum in Tervuren & The Hotel Brussels) under the theme “Forces of the Future”—an ambitious program exploring the spiritual, demographic, technological, mining, diasporic, and creative forces reshaping the continent's trajectory. www.africapoliticaloutlook.org

The Role: APO 2026 Volunteer/Helper
As an APO volunteer, you will not be a mere logistical executor: you will be an essential link in a summit that influences continental policies and brings together Africa's and the world's decision-making elite. You will thrive in a top-tier diplomatic environment, interacting directly with ministerial figures, and leaders of international institutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Welcome & Protocol:
- Greet and guide participants, speakers, VIPs, and official delegations according to protocol standards
- Manage registration, badge distribution, and conference materials (program, participant kits)
- Escort high-level speakers to dedicated areas (VIP rooms, green rooms)
- Logistical & Operational Support:
- Assist with setup and teardown at both conference venues (AfricaMuseum & The Hotel)
- Ensure smooth transitions between sessions (keynotes, panels, conclaves, country sessions)
- Coordinate technical aspects with audiovisual and simultaneous interpretation teams
- Support the organization of the private guided tour of the Museum and the APO Gala Dinner
- Communication & Liaison:
- Act as the interface between participants and the organizing team
- Facilitate networking during coffee breaks, cocktails, and networking breakfasts
- Respond to participants' information requests in real time
- Documentation & Content:
- Contribute to structured note-taking during panels and strategic conclaves
- Support real-time social media coverage (live-tweeting, stories)
- Assist the press team with media accreditation management and interview coordination
Profile Sought
Essential Skills:
- Strong interest in African political, economic, and geopolitical issues
- French-English bilingualism mandatory (summit's working languages); Portuguese, Arabic, or other African languages a major asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills, sense of protocol, and discretion
- Ability to work under pressure in a multicultural, high-intensity environment
- Full availability for both days (March 26 & 27, 2026), plus a half-day briefing the day before (March 25)
Ideal Profile:
- Student or young professional in international relations, political science, African studies, communications, event management, or related fields
- Prior experience in institutional or diplomatic events (conferences, summits, forums)
- Proficiency in digital tools and social media
- Initiative, rigor, and adaptability
