About your job

As Senior Accountant, you will be a key figure within our finance department. You will be responsible for entering, monitoring, reconciling and analysing balance sheet and profit and loss accounts and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You will work closely with the team and report directly to the Finance Manager.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Processing G/L entries (including depreciation, payroll journal entries, miscellaneous transactions, costs and revenues to be carried forward).
• Preparing monthly and year-end closures, including reconciliation of accounts.
• Monitoring balance sheet items and supporting internal and external audits.
• Managing VAT and other tax returns.
• Preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc queries and projects.
• Collaborating with colleagues in finance and other departments to improve processes.

Do you recognise yourself?

You are analytically strong and understand the importance of understanding the bookings generated by an ERP system. You have a proactive, entrepreneurial attitude and feel at home in a team-oriented and pragmatic working environment.

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a similar field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience as a (senior) accountant.
• Thorough knowledge of Belgian accounting standards and taxation. Knowledge or experience of Dutch rules is a nice plus.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4 Hana is a plus).
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and accuracy.
• You are willing to work an average of two days a week from our Dutch office (Venray)
• Fluent communication in Dutch and English.

Your Amista ‘base camp’ in Belgium

Amista has several branches spread across Belgium and the Netherlands. You will find us in Mechelen, Destelbergen, Ghent and Kortrijk in Belgium and in Venray, Dordrecht and Utrecht in the Netherlands. Although you can also regularly work from your home office, your main workplace will be our office in Mechelen. In addition, you will be present in the Netherlands on average two days a week to strengthen cooperation with your colleagues there.
