Job Title: Functional Business Analyst

Location: Belgium (Hybrid / On-site depending on client needs)

Contract Type: Freelance / Contract

Duration: 6-12 months (with possible extensions)

Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Functional Business Analyst for a contract opportunity with one of our key clients in Belgium. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in translating business needs into functional specifications, bridging the gap between stakeholders and development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements
• Liaise with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear technical documentation
• Work closely with developers, testers, and project managers to ensure successful delivery
• Assist in the design and improvement of business processes and systems
• Conduct functional testing and support UAT phases
• Prepare user documentation and provide training when needed

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Functional Business Analyst, ideally within complex IT or digital transformation projects
• Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies and tools
• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of French or Dutch is a strong asset
• Experience in sectors such as banking, insurance, telecom, or public sector is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Previous experience working in Belgium or within Belgian/European regulations
