Senior Business Actuary – Life Insurance


pWithin the ‘Insurance’ division, whose mission is to ensure the profitability, development and sale of our products and services and to manage our life insurance portfolio, the ‘Business Change Monitoring’ Department directs and steers the Life Insurance business on the basis of quantified analyses, technically supports the business by carrying out the necessary technical and actuarial studies, and analyses business projects with an IT impact. /ppThe team consists of 12 colleagues who are waiting just for you! /ph3Your Responsibilities /h3pAs Senior Business Actuary you are responsible for managing the profitability of the life insurance portfolio and optimising results at the business level. /ppYour responsibilities therefore include: /polliManaging our product profitability while optimising existing models, that is: /li /olulliAnalysing and steering profitability growth across our portfolio. /liliDeveloping absent profitability models in cooperation with the finance teams and the Group. /liliProposing business actions that improve profitability, reinsurance impact and results plus related follow up. /li /ulliManaging reinsurance of the protection or financial type: /liulliDefining forecasts and budgets linked to reinsurance products. /liliMonitoring and analysing the performance of the portfolio linked to these reinsurance structures. /liliManaging reinsurance renewals. /liliContributing to and challenging various results optimisation structures, especially in connection with reinsurance. /li /ulliBusiness management of the financial closures cycle: /liulliManaging business closures within the team. /liliProducing reports on closures linked to reinsurance. /liliHelping stabilise information needed for closure, such as: /liulliManaging and checking reserves to be set aside and the various calculations to meet commitments. /liliProviding technical support for managers through actuarial calculations, etc. /li /ul /ulliActing as business technical referent: /liulliUnderstanding and interpreting the company’s results at Belgian GAAP, IFRS and Solvency II level, that is: /liulliControlling the impact of business dimensions (Belgian GAAP in particular). /liliServing as link with the teams that produce the Belgian GAAP, IFRS and Solvency II results. /liliProposing business actions to improve these results. /li /ulliPutting into place and maintaining the necessary models for the team's activities as a whole (budgets, projections, reinsurance, provisions, etc.) and identifying and implementing the necessary optimisations. /liliProviding support in defining budgets and goals and for technical analyses relating to portfolio development. /li /ulh3Your Profile /h3ulliYou have a master’s degree, preferably in mathematics, actuarial sciences or economics. /liliYou have initial experience in a similar position, ideally in the life insurance, reinsurance or bank investment products sectors. /liliYou have an excellent knowledge of French or Dutch with a good command of the other national language and can work in English. /liliYou have Excel (VBA) at your fingertips and are comfortable working with Powerpoint. /liliYou have a command of at least one database query language (SAS, SQL); knowledge of Power BI or PowerQuery is an advantage. /liliYou have an analytical mind and the necessary abstraction ability to understand results/figures and formulate recommendations. /liliYou are able to present your analyses simply, effectively and clearly to all interested parties, including Senior Management. /liliYou can work under pressure and respect tight deadlines. /liliYou are autonomous and can take the initiative. /liliYou have a team spirit. /li /ulh3Good Reasons to Join Us /h3ulliA permanent employment contract. /liliA company on a human scale within a dynamic group where you can rapidly have an impact. /liliAccessible management close to staff and a pleasant working environment. /liliMany opportunities for development, thanks in particular to our Athora Academy. /liliBalance between professional life and private life with generous holidays (at least 39 days a year), flexible working hours and up to 3 days’ teleworking a week. /liliAn attractive salary package plus various fringe benefits. /liliModern, bright offices conducive to collaboration. /liliA central location in the Porte de Namur district, accessible by train and public transport and with parking facilities available if needed. /liliLast but not least… a sunny terrace, afterworks between colleagues, teambuildings, an annual staff day and many other events to discover…? /li /ulpIf you are looking for a friendly organisation with a human face and attach value to cooperation and helping one another, you have come to the right address. /ppApply By: /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
