On behalf of our client operating in the energy sector, we are recruiting a Technical Lead specialized in Python for a long-term assignment.
As a Lead Python Developer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in backend and data engineering within trading product squads, ensuring secure, high-performance solutions while guiding teams, collaborating with stakeholders, and shaping architectural decisions.
Tasks:
Here are the main tasks that we'll be involved in:
Provide technical leadership in backend and data engineering, including architecture and microservices design.
Mentor developers and ensure adherence to engineering, quality, and security standards.
Design, build, optimize, deploy, and maintain robust, high-performance trading systems.
Gather and analyze requirements with Product Owners and stakeholders to shape solutions.
Plan, break down, and oversee delivery tasks while supporting team members.
Collaborate cross-functionally in an agile, distributed environment to ensure stable operations and business success.
Profile:
You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in backend or data engineering roles, with strong expertise in Python (v3), Kubernetes, and AWS cloud architecture. Ideally, you hold a university degree in Computer Science or a related field.
You have demonstrated experience in technical leadership or senior individual contributor roles, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
You have a good understanding of networking and cybersecurity.
Having 3–5 years of experience in electronic or algorithmic trading, with strong knowledge of financial products (futures, options, forwards, swaps, etc.) and the trade lifecycle, is a plus.
