Description

• Performing daily cash reconciliations between bank statements obtained from custodians and clearing agents against our position keeping tool;
• Collaborating with portfolio managers, service providers, and various operational teams to ensure the precision of data within our position keeping tool;
• Updating internal reports and monitoring outstanding discrepancies while working in conjunction with custodians, accountants, clearers, and internal teams;
• Conducting daily position reconciliations between bank statements received from custodians and clearing agents as compared to our position keeping tool;
• Verifying all cash and positions linked to futures and options within our position keeping tool and across all clearing agents;
• Ensuring the validation of data in our Position Keeping Tool, which includes monitoring and confirming portfolio valuations of institutional client mandates on reporting dates. You will publish these valuations to downstream applications and control the plausibility of valuations using reference benchmarks. Additionally, you will investigate and analyze discrepancies identified in control reports;
• Serving as the primary contact for inquiries regarding data quality from portfolio managers, performance analysts, clients, and reporting teams;
• Overseeing and tracking the reconciliation activities produced by the Global Services Operations (GSO), maintaining the production schedule, ensuring adherence to the control framework, and acting as an internal point of contact. You will ensure GSO complies with established internal procedures, controls, and checklists while fostering positive working relationships with the Chennai office. You will also act as an escalation point and take the lead in identifying issues and suggesting improvements to workflows;
• Acting as a dependable support resource for general reconciliation queries from both internal and external stakeholders;
• Contributing to continuous improvements in the production process and encouraging knowledge sharing within the GSO team;
• In accordance with client requirements, compiling and preparing reports at various intervals throughout the month;
• Providing monthly validation for reporting through a ‘green light’ process, confirming that all data within our accounts is accurate.

Your profile

• Holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance or accounting, which is advantageous but not mandatory; alternatively, a background in finance, economics, or relevant experience will be considered;
• Has a demonstrated background in Operations, tailored to the specific function level;
• Possesses strong proficiency in English and familiarity with one or more additional languages, preferably French, along with the national language(s) of the location where the role is based;
• Displays a solid understanding of financial instruments and the processes associated with executing financial transactions;
• Is knowledgeable about the internal protocols governing activities relevant to the role;
• Is adept with essential IT tools such as MS Office (Excel, Outlook), VBA, and other specialized software utilized in daily operations;
• Exhibits high emotional intelligence, showing awareness of personal emotions, strengths, and weaknesses, and understanding their effects on performance and those around them;
