Senior Scientist – Drug Discovery

Location: Ghent, Belgium (EU relocation supported)

I’m working with an exciting and well funded biotech building its European discovery team is hiring a hands on Scientist to drive their small molecule and protein degrader programmes from hit discovery through lead optimisation.

This is an execution role for people who have moved real programmes forward in industry. So at this time is not open to No pure academic or peripheral profiles.

Key Focus

• Run hit discovery, hit-to-lead, and lead optimisation programmes
• Execute follow-up biology and interpret data for progression decisions
• Support transition from screening to late-stage discovery
• Contribute directly to project advancement
• Lead day-to-day experimental delivery

Required Profile

• PhD with 5–10 years’ drug discovery experience (essential)
• Pharma/biotech background (not academic-only)
• Proven small-molecule discovery experience
• Protein degradation (PROTAC) experience strongly preferred
• Direct involvement in progressing discovery programmes
• Practical understanding of discovery bottlenecks
