You’ll join the Data Exploitation team within the Information Technology & Services (IT&S) department — a multidisciplinary group of civilian and military IT specialists. CC V&C manages and supports Defence’s communication networks and business applications, covering both in‑house and COTS solutions throughout their full lifecycle. Your Role as Data Engineer
You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining Defence’s data infrastructure.
Data Extraction & Transformation
Build scalable, robust data pipelines
Coach and support new team members
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security compliance
Data Integration
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data needs
Integrate diverse data sources into unified datasets
Design scalable solutions for growing data volumes
You hold a master’s degree (or higher) in an IT‑related field and possess the BEL or EU nationality.
Team‑oriented mindset and willingness to share knowledge
Preferably bilingual (Dutch, French), with sufficient command of either French or Dutch to participate seamlessly in meetings with specialists and end users.
Solid command of technical English.
Programming knowledge (Java, Python, or Scala)
Data modelling and database design
Understanding of data security principles
