Deputy Compliance Officer

We are now hiring a a Compliance Analyst to possibily turn into a Deputy Compliance Officer to support our Compliance Officer in Brussels. This role is ideal for someone who already has experience in compliance or AML, is eager to take on greater responsibility, and sees a future as a compliance leader, possibly growing into a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) role over time.

The role:

As Deputy Compliance Officer, you will be supporting daily operations and gradually taking on strategic compliance initiatives.

You will:

• Support the implementation of the compliance framework and internal controls.
• Assist in the execution and monitoring of the AML/CFT program.
• Review transactions and contribute to the filing of suspicious activity reports (SAR/STR).
• Help prepare documentation and responses for audits, regulatory inspections, and internal reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Product, Treasury, etc.) to ensure compliance is embedded across the business.
• Stay up to date with EU regulatory developments and assist in adapting policies and procedures accordingly.
• Act as a point of contact when the Compliance Officer is unavailable, ensuring continuity and support.

What we are looking for:

• 2–4 years of experience in compliance, AML, or regulatory risk — ideally in fintech, payments, or financial services.
• Solid understanding of EU regulations (PSD2, AMLD, GDPR); Belgian regulation is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a proactive and hands-on approach.
• Professional fluency in English (mandatory); French or Dutch is a plus.
• Interest in long-term growth and development in compliance leadership roles.
• Compliance certification or willingness to pursue one.
