DevOps Engineer (C++, Python)

Bricsys®, part of Hexagon, is a global technology company creating innovative Computer Aided Design software for worldwide markets. Our products enable the world’s most innovative companies to streamline complex design workflows every day. Our people are active in 80 countries, and our software is available in fifteen languages. We offer innovative solutions for 2D drafting, 3D direct modeling, sheet metal design, and Building Information Modeling (BIM). Bricsys powers an ecosystem of over 1,200 market-specific applications through our developer program. Our focus is to deliver reliable software with friendly licensing, and industry-leading direct support - all at a fair price.

We are currently recruiting a DevOps Engineer to help us build out and modernize our custom-built CI infrastructure and setup.

We moved a few years ago to GitHub so a one of your responsibilities is to smoothen the integration of the existing setup and in a second stage to see what improvements we can make to the setup.

You help build out the tools that are used by the rest of our development team to ensure the road from code to product goes as smoothly as possible. This includes updating our custom-built building tool, maintain and update our CMake configurations, analyse and implement solutions to bring the building time down as much as possible, complete the migration of remaining SVN repositories to GitHub.

Next to building out the pipelines and tools you will also monitor and maintain the running setup and intervene in case of any hiccup. You will highlight meaningful trends and insights and track key metrics which will influence our development process and roadmap.

You will be involved in feature development and maintenance of the licensing components for the BricsCAD product.

Your profile

  • Bachelor, Master or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or other (applied) sciences (or equivalent through experience)
  • 3+ years of professional experience, preferably C++ (at least C++11)
  • Ability to design as well as develop complex software
  • Strong knowledge of Git and version control best practices (including legacy tools like SVN)
  • Excellent verbal/written communication in English
  • Eager to dive into modern technologies and tools that may contribute to the further development of our BricsCAD solution as a whole
  • Ability to collaborate with Product Managers, tech leads, developers, and other R&D architects
  • Willingness to mentor junior colleagues

Any of the following is definitely a plus!

  • C++14/17
  • Python
  • Make, CMake, or other build systems for C/C++ projects
  • Agile methodology
  • Static code analysers and code coverage tools
  • Licensing framework (Reprise, Flexera, Revenera)

Our offer

  • A full-time, regular employment contract
  • Flexible working hours, 32 days’ vacation and the possibility to work from home up to two days/week
  • Competitive remuneration with many additional benefits (pension plan, meal vouchers, expense allowance, hospitalization & car assistance insurance to name a few)
  • Choice of platform (Windows, Mac, Linux)
  • A no-nonsense work floor with a flat hierarchy and direct access to management.
  • Autonomy in planning and designing your own work (guidance and collaboration possibilities are available).
  • An international work environment.
  • Encouragement to show initiative, learn, grow and develop your own ideas.
  • Parties, pizza Fridays and other (optional) fun activities.
  • Up to 12 ‘Learning Days’ and free access to complete Udemy catalogue, a learning platform offering access to thousands of top-rated courses, allowing our employees to improve their skills constantly!

Interested? We look forward to hearing from you!

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 3 weeks of application. All inquiries and applications will be treated with the utmost discretion.
