System Engineer

Role Overview

As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, optimization, and support of the IT infrastructure environment, including servers, networks, and virtualization platforms. You’ll be the go-to person for troubleshooting, implementing improvements, and ensuring system availability for a growing user base.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers
• Oversee virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper-V)
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system and network issues
• Implement security best practices across infrastructure
• Support users with 2nd and 3rd line issues where needed
• Ensure backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans are in place
• Participate in IT projects to modernize and scale infrastructure

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a System Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments
• Hands-on experience with VMware / Hyper-V
• Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Firewalls, VPN, Switching, Routing)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure / AWS) is an advantage
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in English (Dutch and/or French a plus)
