Job Description
You will use the company and global EHS VMOST to set local strategy, objectives and work schedules for you and your team.
In your role you shall offer guidance and advice to the company on EH&S matters in a professional and efficient manner. As required you shall implement actions and improvements to improve the companies EH&S compliance.
With the aid of your team you will write, review, implement, train, and deliver the companies Environmental Health & Safety policies, procedures and training. You will collaborate with company directors, managers and other key stakeholders ensuring you give suitable guidance, metrics, and advice on H&S, promoting a positive safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Review and implement the Company's Global and Local Environmental, Health & Safety Policies and procedures ensuring they are compliant to legal and internal needs.
- Drive and support the workplace wellbeing policy for the site as legislated in Belgium (wich includes work conditions, security at work, health, psychosocial aspects, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, improvement of the workplace and environment)
- Manage the Environmental Health & Safety team based in the Liege facilities, being responsible for the day-to-day management as well as reviewing performance, setting and reviewing objectives.
- By providing leadership, oversight and direction, manage his/her direct report to achieve company's objectives, including documented performance reviews.
- Make sure that daily work meets business expectations and maintain the best work conditions for his/her team.
- Promote people personal development in order to leverage the team's capabilities and skills.
- Coordinate and perform Environmental, Health & Safety training including writing, reviewing, revising and delivering materials to ensure compliance and to support business needs.
- Produce and disseminate EH&S local and global metrics & KPI's on EHS matters to internal stakeholders to promote continuous improvement in EHS.
- Support the arrangements relating to employee consultation of the Environmental, Health and Safety committees for the Liege facilities.
- Promote a positive culture of EHS including engaging employees in environmental campaigns (such as celebrating Earth Day) and any health and safety initiatives.
- Offer suitable guidance on Environmental, Health & Safety issues that meets current and foreseen legislation. Decide and monitor corrective action items from safety inspections, accident investigations, employee complaints, etc.
- Perform and coordinate risk assessments or impact and aspect assessment for processes and practices to ensure the reflect organisational risk and company undertakings.
- Perform and coordinator psychosocial survey as required (happiness performance survey)
- As needed follow up accidents or near misses reported, ensuring compliance and promoting continuous improvement through the investigation and actions. Recommend preventive measures to reduce or eliminate EHS accidents and hazards (including different topics covered by the workplace well-being policy) ; Ensure the follow up of incidents recording, reporting and investigation operated by the EHS Coordinator
- Liaison with external authorities and bodies as required (e.g. External Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work)
- Coordinate the Committee on Prevention and Protection at Work for the Liege facilities and provide Committee report
- Any other related duties connected to the Company's business.

- 5-10 years experience occupying this role in a BE organisation
Education:
- BE recognised qualification in EHS (Prevention Advisor level 1)
