Job Description
As a Strategic Program Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of grid access and capacity management in response to the growing demand for electrification and the transition to carbon neutrality.
You will lead a strategic initiative to evaluate and redesign the framework for grid connection prioritization, drawing insights from international best practices and aligning with national and regional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct strategic analysis of grid access models in neighboring countries (e.g., UK, Netherlands) and assess their applicability to the Belgian context.
- Facilitate internal and external interviews and workshops to gather insights and build consensus.
- Develop and implement governance structures to support the program, both within the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Formulate a clear and actionable implementation plan for a revised grid connection framework.
- Address key strategic questions such as:
- How can grid users be prioritized in a socially relevant way across regions (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels)?
- What is the optimal management model: centralized, decentralized, or hybrid?
- Translate strategic vision into operational processes:
- Define roles and responsibilities
- Redesign connection procedures
- Ensure alignment with regulatory and policy frameworks
Your Profile
- Knowledge of Dutch, French & English (oral and written)
- Well structured to keep the project under control and keep an eye on the vision despite the urgencies
- Sufficient leadership to deal with various internal and external stakeholders and to come up with pragmatic solutions/proposals, both in the short term but also able to work out the long-term vision;
- Knowledge of the context and the Belgian energy sector
- Sufficiently autonomous
- Someone who gets 'energy' from navigating complex files with many stakeholders
